  • Andrew Mackintosh MBChB, FRANZCOG, FRCOG

    Completed his under-graduate medical training at the University of Otago and Wellington Hospital. Post-graduate training was at National Women’s Hospital in Auckland and at Hillingdon, Poole and St. Thomas’ Hospital (London, UK). He worked at National Women’s Hospital as a gynaecological surgeon and gynaecological oncology surgeon until 1999 and is now performing surgery at Ascot Hospital. He is fully trained in gynaecological laparoscopic surgery, is a member of the International Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy and is actively involved in clinical pathological review of gynaecological cancers.

  • John Whittaker MBChB, FRANZCOG, MRCOG, CGO

    Graduated at the University of Otago in 1977. Completed general O&G training in the UK and New Zealand and then two years training in Gynaecological Oncology at Gateshead in the UK. Works as a Gynaecological Oncologist at National Womens Hospital as well as in private practice. Obtained CGO (Certificate in Gynaecological Oncology) in 1998 and is actively involved in clinical pathological review of gynaecological cancers.

  • Ai Ling Tan MBBS, DipObs, FRANZCOG, MRCOG, CGO

    Graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1984. Postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at National Womens Hospital and Brighton Hospital in the United Kingdom. Since 1994 has worked as a specialist Obstetrician Gynaecologist both at National Womens Hospital and in private. Underwent formal subspecialty training in Gynaecological Oncology in Sydney and Melbourne to obtain certification in gynaecological oncology (CGO). Currently working as a Gynaecology Oncologist at National Womens Hospital and Ascot Hospital. Other areas of interest include preinvasive lower genital tract disease and vulvar conditions.

  • Hilary Liddell MBChB, FRANZCOG, MRCOG

    Completed medical training at the University of Auckland Medical School, Auckland, New Zealand. Post-graduate training in obstetrics & gynaecology was carried out at National Women’s Hospital, Auckland, New Zealand; St Mary’s Samaritan Hospital, Paddington, London, UK and The Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester, UK.

    Hilary has a special interest and 20 years of experience in laparoscopic surgery to diagnose and treat all benign gynaecological conditions especially all grades of endometriosis. She also performs colposcopy and laser surgery for cervical abnormalities.

  • Simon Edmonds MBBS BSc, MRCOG, FRCSEd, FRANZCOG

    Mr Simon Edmonds, Gynaecological Surgeon is a UK trained gynaecologist with a special interest in laparoscopic surgery, including hysterectomy and the treatment of severe endometriosis.

    His initial training was undertaken at St Thomas's Hospital in London, followed by five years as a consultant in the South East of England.

    He moved to Auckland in 2010 where he is now the Lead for Gynaecology at Middlemore Hospital.

  • Douglas Barclay MBBS, MA, MRCOG, FRANZCOG

    Mr Douglas Barclay, Gynaecological Surgeon is a UK trained gynaecologist with a special interest in minimal access surgery including laparoscopic hysterectomy, treatment of endometriosis and hysteroscopy.

    His training was in South West England – Bristol and Plymouth and he has been a Consultant at Middlemore Hospital since 2009.

  • Anna-Marie Van der Merwe MBchB, FRANZCOG

    Dr Anna-Marie Van der Merwe completed her medical training at the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2000. Obstetrics & Gynaecology training commenced in Hillingdon Hospital and Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital, London before she moved to New Zealand and undertook her post graduate training at Waikato and Counties Manukau DHB.

    Anna completed her fellowship in Gynaecological Laparoscopy and Minimal Access Surgery at SAGE (South Auckland Gynaecology Endoscopy unit) and was awarded an AGES (Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery) qualification in 2014.
